Connecting With My Heritage

I am proud of my rural upbringing, and for years, I became disconnected. My focus was more on my career than taking the time to enjoy a secret passion of mine - making homemade soap.
My paternal grandmother was the best at making EVERYTHING! She was the epitome of a homemaker. She made homemade soap made with lard from the hogs we raised. She would make our Halloween candy, undergarments, upholstery, etc. I remember when growing up, we had plastic over our furniture to preserve it through the years. Well - she did it! We rarely had to go to the store for anything!

Now, I live the city life! And for some of my friends, they find this passion odd. Probably, because it doesn't fit what THEY picture me to be. But, I love keeping people guessing.
For the past few years, I have taken the time to reconnect with my grandmother's lifestyle skills, and I make my soap. My family and friends request it on a regular basis. It has helped to clear their acne, make their skin glow, as well as, leaving their skin feeling fresh and clean!
The holidays are coming up, and I have started a new batch.
Stay tuned to find out what other homemade products that will make you "sparkle."
